"Vijayawada City - Green Capital of India"

 

Vijayawada city is chosen as new Capital of residual state of Andhra Pradesh and the leadership of the new government has come up with a vision of transforming it as Green Capital of India. In order to support this initiative BRCORP organized the International Conference on Renewable Energy and Environmental Engineering (ICREEE-2014) in technical collaboration with Cafet-Innova Technical Society, India at Quality Hotel D V Manor, M. G. Road, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India during 29-31 December 2014. This conference served as a platform to share knowledge and discuss ideas among stakeholders including officials from the Government, Industries, Corporate Companies, CSIR Labs, University Professors and Students.

Dr. Raju Aedla, Conference Co-Chair gave the welcome note & introduced Basha Research Corporation (BRCORP) and Cafet-Innova Technical Society (CITS) to the conference participants. Prof. Abdul Razak Mohamed, Dean of SPA-Vijayawada (MHRD Institute, Government of India) was the Chief Guest for the inaugural function. He discussed the various renewable energy resources and their importance for sustainable development especially in making a Green Capital during his keynote address Prof. Shashi Kumar Gupta, Former Head of Civil Engineering Department, Koneru Lakshmaiah University was the Guest-of-Honour. He was earlier Senior Professor of Environmental Engineering at Waikato Institute of Technology, New Zealand. In this keynote address he briefed about consumption of resources in various countries and importance of alternate energy resources which do not pollute environment. Dr. Ashwin Ambrose Melvin, Research Associate at CSIR-NCL Pune gave a keynote address on use of Hydrogen gas as a potential fuel. He also discussed about the production techniques of Hydrogen gas and some of its applications especially in the current scenario. Mr. M. A. Siraj, Journalist from BBC gave a keynote on Solar Energy and its applications and discussed mainly on its effective usage. He mainly writes articles in leading newspapers on energy and environment related topics. Vote of thanks was delivered by Organizing Secretary Mr. Ashish Ramesh Jaggi, R&D Manager at BRCORP

The conference received more than 70 research papers in the areas of Renewable Energy and Environmental Engineering from countries like Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan, Qatar, USA, Vietnam and Indian States of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. These papers were orally presented by the conference participants using their PowerPoint slides and the proceedings were published in the International Journal of Renewable Energy and Environmental Engineering, ISSN 2348-0157 by BRCORP.

WCSET 2014 was inaugurated by Dr. Minendra Rizal, Minister for IT & Communications, Government of Nepal in presence of Mr. Sukhdev Bhattarai Khatry, Secretary and Deputy Auditor General, Government of Nepal, Prof. J. S. Rao, President & CEO, BRCORP, Prof. Shuichi TORII, Assistant Director, Centre for Globalization Kumamoto University (Japan), Prof. Amde M. Amde, University of Maryland (USA), Prof. Katta Venkataramana, Dean Academics, NIT-Karnataka (India), Prof. D. Venkat Reddy, President of Cafet-Innova Technical Society, Prof. Indra Prasad Tripathi, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya (India), Prof. R. N. Patel, Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Prof. Rajesh R., Central University of Bihar and Prof. A. S. N. Chakravarthy, Chief Technology Officer of BRCORP and Associate Professor, JNTUK-UCEV. Mr. Ranipet Hafeez Basha, Vice President - Technology, BRCORP and Mr. Raju Aedla, Secretary General of Cafet-Innova Technical Society were the Conference Chair and Co-Chair respectively and Mr. Pragyan Bhattarai was the Organizing Secretary.

Mr. Leela Mani Paudyal, Chief Secretary and Mr. Mohadatta Timilsina, Secretary, Government of Nepal were the Chief Guest and Guest-of-Honour respectively for the valedictory function. Prof. Shuichi TORII announced that the next WCSET shall be organized at Kumamoto University, Japan.

 

2nd World Conference on Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (WCSET 2013)

WCSET 2013 was inaugurated by Prof. K. Laxminarayana, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of BRCORP in presence of Prof. Dinesh Kumar Paliwal, Member Secretary, National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi an autonomous body for Assurance of Quality and Relevance of Education in India, Dr. Narendra Kumar Nanda, Director Technical of National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India, Prof. D. Hari narayana, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Prof. Ch. Sanjay, Director Hyderabad Campus of GITAM University and Mr. Ranipet Hafeez Basha, Vice President - Technology, BRCORP. Prof. Dinesh Kumar Paliwal stated that academic institutions should focus on science based engineering and introduce research aptitude among students in the undergraduate level itself. Dr. Narendra Kumar Nanda expressed that industry is looking for skilled and quality manpower. He also mentioned that students should be able to think out of the box to develop their skills.

Keynote lectures were delivered by Dr. A. C. Sahayam, Scientist-G from National Centre for Compositional Characterisation of Materials (CCCM), Hyderabad, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, Mr. Srihari Tirumalasetty, Deputy General Manager of Ramky Group Ltd., Mrs. Arni Swarna Bai, Scientist-E from Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Defence Research Development Organization, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, Mr. Ch. Saikiran from ORACLE Ltd. and other experts. More than 450 papers were received for the conference from various parts of the world out of which 375 papers were accepted for oral presentation and after peer review the papers were published in International Journals of BRCORP. The conference was supported by various leading industries including Dr. Reddy�s, Vijay Electricals, Metsonic Engineers, MRT Tyres, ABS Traders, Indian Bank, Union Bank, SS Lab Equipments, Scientech, CMS Contech & Micro Systems, SVR Travels, Indian Tour and Travel, Pennar Industries, Parker, Pepsico, BFW, Rohde & Schwarz, Harries Enterprises, SR Tours & Travels, CST, Bookionics and other sponsors.

1st World Conference on Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (WCSET 2012)

17-19 August 2012, Haailand Theme Park and Resort, Vijayawada City, INDIA

 

Prof. J. S. Rao, President & CEO, BRCORP inaugurated the conference in presence of Prof. Shovan K. Saha, Director, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA-Vijayawada), Prof. D. Venkat Reddy, President of Cafet-Innova Technical Society, Prof. Ch. Sanjay, Director GITAM University, Hyderabad Campus, Prof. Rongala Suresh Kumar, President and CEO of C2C Private Ltd., Mr. Ranipet Hafeez Basha, Vice President - Technology, BRCORP and Mr. Raju Aedla, Secretary General, Cafet-Innova Technical Society. The conference received huge response with more than 200 participants from Industry and Academia representing various parts of the world. Research papers were received from countries like Australia, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Iran, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and India.

Prof. J. S. Rao gave keynote lecture on Bird Strike on Aircraft Engines during the plenary session of the conference while Prof. Ch. Sanjay gave a keynote presentation on Research & Development a missing link. Prof. Subhasis Sen CSIR Eminent Scientist and Prof. Ch. Hanumantha Rao, Head of Civil Engineering department, Koneru Lakshmaiah University gave keynote presentations on topics �One Step Forward and Two Steps Backward: The Present Status of Geological Sciences and a Suggested Upgrading� and �Advancements in Geotechnical Investigations� respectively during the parallel sessions. There were keynote lectures from experts representing Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Microsoft R&D, National Institute of Hydrology, National Institute of Rock Mechanics, Oracle India Ltd., Thomson Reuters, etc. The foreign students from Bhutan, Iran and Nepal studying in India also participated in huge number.

Prof. G. L. Datta, Former Dean, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Kharagpur) and Chancellor of Koneru Lakshmaiah University, Vijayawada was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. Prof. Ch. Sanjay made the announcement in Valedictory Function to host the 2nd World Conference on Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (WCSET 2013) at Hyderabad Campus of the GITAM University.
