Abstract:
Demand-side management (DSM) plays an important role in
demand response (DR) system which increases energy
efficiency in smart grid. The traditional demand side
management focus on slashing peak-load in peak hours,
but it does not consider about user’s comfort. In this
paper, authors propose an intelligent energy management
system and implement with the Intel Quark-based Gateway.
To consider about user’s comfort, the authors provides
an intelligent energy management system with three mode,
(1) saving mode (2) personalized mode (3) comfortable
mode, user can choose the mode for their need. In saving
mode, it gives serious consideration to save energy and
achieve the standard of reduction. In personalized mode,
it saves energy according to user’s priority list. In
comfortable mode, user only need to set their minimum
comfort tolerance level previously, and the system
supplies energy saving and user’s comfort keeping. This
paper is of great significance in implementing more
user-friendly demand side management way to make user
become more active in the energy system.
