Abstract:
Point-of-care testing (POCT), or bedside testing is
defined as medical testing at or near the site of
patient care. In order to approach POCT, a
miniaturization system consists of microfluidics chip,
bio-recognition probes and electrically sensing element
for providing enough information on clinical diagnosis.
As the result, multidisciplinary researches and
integrations are crucial for developing POCT. This work
presents a modulelevel impedance measurement system
integrated with a dielectrophoretic (DEP) biochip for
the immunoassay of bladder cancer cell lysate (T24) to a
specific antibody (Galectin-1). In this talk, we will
introduce how to fabricate a multiplexed antibody array
by multi-step dielectrophoretic manipulations of
nanoparticles and the advantages of electrically sensing
instead of conventional fluorescence signal, which
requires bulky measurement instrument. Finally, we will
demonstrate a low-cost and high sensitivity immunoassay
can be completed in 10 min using a portable impedance
system module. This immunoassay platform technology
gives great potential for use in point-of-care
diagnostics.
