Abstract:   This paper presents a feasibility study of Solar photo-voltaic, Biogas based hybrid renewable energy system providing electricity to NMREC. Integrated renewable energy systems (IRES) are increasingly being installed where the grid extension is considered uneconomical. Modeling of IRES is highly site specific and dependent on locally available renewable energy resources and load profile. This study of solar PV and biogas hybrid energy system proposed at Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College (NMREC) Hyderabad. The NASA RET Screen global radiation data/day of the proposed site is used. The NMREC average monthly energy requirement for one year is considered for estimating total college solar PV and biogas hybrid energy system requirements. The proposed grid assisted system is going to meet the energy demand of the NMREC. This system is designed focused on solar energy. The biogas energy is used when solar energy is not able to meet the energy demand. The biogas energy is used, it improves the reliability of the system. This system reduces the utilization of fossil fuels and reduction of CO2 emissions. With this proposed work, the emission of co2 is reduced by 130.816 tons.
